DaVinci Resolve Studio 21

DaVinci Resolve Studio 21 includes everything available in the free version and adds the DaVinci Neural Engine, automatic AI region tracking, stereoscopic 3D tools, additional Resolve FX filters, more Fairlight FX audio plugins and advanced HDR grading tools. It is designed for demanding professional post-production, broadcast, cinema and content creation workflows.

What's New in DaVinci Resolve 21

DaVinci Resolve 21 introduces the new Photo page, bringing DaVinci’s advanced color correction tools to still photography. The update also adds more than 100 new motion graphics effects, over 50 new features and hundreds of workflow and usability improvements.

A new generation of AI tools helps users search media by content, adjust focus, refine faces, reduce motion blur, sharpen images and perform other complex operations. The Cut and Edit pages feature improved keyframing and expanded graphics format support, while Color, Fusion and Fairlight receive major workflow enhancements.

Integrated Photo Editing

The new Photo page provides an integrated environment for importing, organizing, editing and color grading still images. Photographs can be managed using albums, ratings, flags, tags and metadata, while the LightBox view provides an overview of an entire collection.

Photographers and colorists can use familiar DaVinci tools such as primary color correction, curves, qualifiers, power windows and node-based grading. Images can be cropped and reframed at their original source resolution, while Resolve FX, Open FX plugins, LUTs and selected AI tools can be applied directly to still images.

DaVinci Resolve 21 supports native RAW images from selected Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and Sony cameras. Compatible Canon and Sony cameras can also be tethered directly to the software for live image capture, camera control and automatic storage in an album.

Advanced AI Tools

AI IntelliSearch analyzes media and allows users to search for people, objects, scenes and spoken keywords using natural language. Search results are displayed directly in the Media Pool, helping editors locate relevant material without manually reviewing every clip.

Additional AI tools include CineFocus for adjusting the focal point and depth of field, facial refinement and age transformation tools, AI UltraSharpen for improving image clarity and AI Motion Deblur for reducing motion-related softness and streaking.

Improved Editing and Motion Graphics

The Cut and Edit pages include enhanced keyframe and curve editing for more precise animation control. Expanded graphics support makes it easier to integrate modern motion graphics into a project, including native support for Lottie animations.

Fusion now includes the Krokodove toolset with more than 70 additional graphics tools. Together with the new motion graphics effects and improved animation controls, these additions provide more options for creating titles, transitions, compositing effects and animated graphics.

Advanced Color Workflows

DaVinci Resolve 21 improves professional color grading workflows with MultiMaster trim passes, layer list node graphs and group versions. These tools help colorists manage complex grades, organize node structures and create alternative versions across multiple clips more efficiently.

DaVinci Resolve Studio also provides advanced HDR grading, HDR scopes, wide-gamut color management and high-quality 32-bit float image processing for demanding cinema, television and streaming workflows.

Fairlight Audio Post Production

Fairlight provides a complete environment for professional audio editing, sound design, recording, mixing and mastering. The new folder functionality in DaVinci Resolve 21 simplifies the organization and navigation of large projects containing many audio tracks.

Additional immersive tools support spherical media orientation, stereoscopic processing and advanced Fusion compositing workflows.

Blackmagic Cloud Collaboration

Blackmagic Cloud allows project libraries and media to be accessed remotely, enabling editors, colorists, visual effects artists and sound engineers to collaborate on the same production. Multiple users can work in parallel while project changes and updates remain available to the entire team.

The Photo page is also integrated into the collaborative workflow, allowing albums, metadata, tags, grades and effects to be shared with other project members.
